The Department boasts of well–equipped Physics and Chemistry laboratories and a language laboratory as well. In addition to the practical sessions conducted by the Physics and Chemistry laboratories in the relevant areas of Basic Sciences, the laboratories have provided invaluable technical support for the project-related work undertaken by other departments.
Physics is a practical science and relies on data, so physicists need to understand how data is generated and how to analyses it. This covers a wide range of skills including the ability to use apparatus and instruments in the laboratory. MITS has a well-equipped physics laboratory with semiconductor LASER for Diffraction experiments, Newton’s ring arrangement, CRO, Solar cell, Thermocouple, Half shade Polari meter etc. The labs were intended to be implemented with a lab manual. Students are provided with aim, principle and procedure for each experiment so that the students identify the kinds of observations which can be made and the types of quantities which can be measured with those tools, and then to develop some clearly-defined questions which can be tested with the available materials and equipment.

The chemistry department provides the opportunity for the students to obtain a thorough knowledge of different field of chemistry. There are lecture courses in areas of spectroscopy, electrochemistry, water technology, instrumental analysis, polymer synthesis and fuel and lubricants. Lab experience is provided in analytical, polymer synthesis, physio- chemical measurements and spectroscopy. Lab is adequately equipped with many modern equipment including UV visible spectrometer, 3 point calibration pH meter, digital potentiometer and conductometer etc. Many of these instruments are interfaced directly to computers. In addition to that special arrangements are made to analyses water, effluents, soil from nearby stakeholders
Language Laboratory facilitates learning of English language through innovative products such as digital multimedia control, wireless headsets and microphones, the interactive response pad, etc. The multimedia devices used in the language lab will arouse the eyes and ears of the learner to acquire the language quickly and easily. The student will have a wholesome experience of LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing) to gain proficiency in the foreign language. The study material is designed to assist learners in the acquisition and maintenance of comprehension, oral and written proficiency, and awareness on the scope of technology in the mastery of a language. The language laboratory offers video lessons, conversation programmes, internet-accessed materials and videotaped off-air recordings in the target language.
MITS has a well-equipped Language Lab with 30 student units and one teacher console. The campus is using ODLL (Orell Digital Language Lab) software
